After 16+ hours of gameplay and testing this with 5/5 Creeping Darkness + Adept + mastery boost, I am fairly certain that monsters ignore the LoS-blocking aspect of this in 99.99% of time entirely - making this iconic but mediocre ability tree pretty much useless.
