I just spoke nicley to the Assassin Lord in the Unknown TUnnels, and he gave me my poison unlocks. Nice guy. Thought I'd talk to him again and he repeated the same options. So killed him and got his drops, altough no updated quest text. Is this intentional? If so, can we make post-unlock dialogs ref...

He's more challenging than most entry level dungeon bosses, but it's not impossible.
Be boring if they always went down no every attempt! This is a roguelike, you can expect leaps in difficulty at points ;)

The unlocks/saves across beta question is such a FAQ, the answer should be made more obvious - a notice on the main menu along the lines of "A new beta is available! b32 "A jolly good beta" is available, download ot now from te4.org/download As usual, unlocks and achieements will tans...

I think they should be much rarer. At the moment they appear every couple of second in Derth. I pity the poor mice population being ravaged by them constantly... What mouse population? If you'll take a closer look and/or listen, there are neither mice nor squeaking noises indicating such things... ...

Oathbraker, you just need to enable tiles (which should be enabled by default). Hit Escape for the main game menu, then select Graphic Options. My reccomendation is the Shockbolt tiles, size is really your own preference (48x48 seems a nice compromise between number of viewable tiles, and detail on ...

poisoned (leaking purple effect a la the trap), stunned (birds around the head?), pinned (err... map pin at the feet?)?

Yes to both the OP.
Frumples idea of dockable reszeable windows is great but is another step down the path of Option bloat,something which ToME mercifully avoids very well atm.

But that relies on you having USED the item. A new player would easily overlook a slime/icy weapon in many circumstances unless they knew about these additional effects.

@Hedrachi, the flickering effect appears unrelated to particle effects on this machine.
