This was my first mage character after only playing Melee's. I took this build almost verbatim up to level 50, all the way to Peak, on the first try on Adventure/Normal difficulty. Was clearing entire rooms in a single turn, really fun build. Most bosses took 2-3 turns once I got closer to 100% crit...
