If you could start as a technomancer, then why would anyone ever choose to start as an archmage and then switch to technomancer instead of just starting as techonomancer? It would make the evolution concept irrelevant if you could just start with the class.

Right now, it often seems ambiguous if a spell will damage the caster or their allies. Some spells specify that they ignore the caster or say it only hits "foes", but many simply have no indication and no way to know until you experimentally throw one at your feet. Ideally it would be some...
