Those weren't from message boards. They were, in all likelihood, randomly targetted - you know, roll up an e-mail address like I might roll up a new char.

I suspect that, bad as the spam flood was, it would have been a lot worse without spam filtering. But it was still pretty awful.

I don't hide myself. It's useless - when you post, everyone knows you're there.

And anyway, once you've registered...

Of course, I originally hid myself, being somehat spam-phobic after getting my account - spam-filtered, yes - flooded with several hundred spams during a vacation.

Gahh. That crap happens all the time. Once I had a mage with a 0% fail rate for Fireflash. Something had just summoned greater demons near me, and I needed to wipe them out immediately. (Why? Because they included 2 Horned Reapers and a Greater Balrog.) I cast Fireflash 4 times before dying, and fai...

I once tried a mage who used Water and Nature magic, and was good with a sword too. Actually worked quite well. Believe it or not, Geyser wasn't as big a weak point as I thought it would be, once I got to the point where I had a lot of mana and a high Water skill.

NO. No, no, no. Again, no. Magic schools are single most unique aspect of ToME, and also, IMHO, the coolest. Thanks to them, you can have a mage who specializes in fire magic at the cost of not having good healing spells, or a priest who dabbles in earth or water magic. You can customize characters ...

I think Mormegil was a pretty damn powerful sword, but I haven't read the Silm in a while. Should read it again.

Hmm... Turin Turambar killed Glaurung with one blow from it... Then again, he was called "master of doom" for a very good reason.

I use Ironman Rooms when I'm feeling lucky. They make the game tougher, but the reward (wicked cool OoD items) is great.

No. The traps just seem pretty damn common.

I think that, since the traps are just annoying, and don't affect gameplay, they shoul be removed. You might as well have a Trap of Name Changing, if you want to keep them in.

Male, because... well... I am one.

Edit: I never have to deal with gender traps because I deleted them from my copy. I don't consider it cheating, since those traps have no effect on gameplay whatsoever, and are fairly inane things for Morgoth to fill his dungeons with.

Haven't even seen it? Excuse me? I most certainly saw it! All ~3 hours of it! (At least half of which were closeups of Arwen and Aragorn...)
