If you clear Worm Rot, there's still a chance for the blight explosion to happen and a carrion worm mass to hatch. I assume you triggered that instantly with your shatter rune.

Fortress is nice for the hardiness. Hardiness is generally harder to get elsewhere than more hp but again depends on the character.

If you start suffocating you will keep suffocating until you get onto a non-water tile. Stepping into air bubbles doesn't work. Known issue and widely agreed to be stupid so maybe it will get changed eventually.

I sometimes think this happens to me when actually I hit 'q' by mistake and swapped to my off weapons, which as a mage very well might be empty. If it's not that no idea.

Generally, you are probably undervaluing mobility. Most characters want at least one movement infusion or phase door rune. For the Archer, you want Trained Reactions. T2 is the biggest problem at the moment I'd agree. darkgod said that the next patch will reduce some of the dangerous T3/4 talents appearing on enemies so early, so some of the worst offenders, like being Fearscape'd to death with no options to respond, will hopefully stop being an issue. I would also add that you can do to Trollmire or somewhere to get XP and you have 1000 turns before Krokkshur is destroyed. You may not be able to completely clear the zone, but this is easily enough time to go kill Prox/Shax, which means you can be lvl 4-5 for the Maggot.

In general, resistance penetration is incredibly important, and having many different damage types means it's hard to get respen for all of them in most cases. Especially on higher difficulties, pretty much any enemy that actually matters in the later game is probably going to have 40%+ resist all, ...

Yeah Master isn't bad because vampires can bleed. And I agree it's not unplayable, but having the main mechanic (bleeds) be something that 30% of enemies are immune to and giving you only one single target talent that will fail in many cases to get around that means in many fights you don't get to u...
