ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Somehow I just lost 5 levels because I'm new and didn't know where to find the save game button.

It would be awesome if there was some kind of automatic save option - configureable so that it would save a copy of your game every time you gained a level, every hour or some such.

For that matter, putting them horizontal instead of vertical like most games would also be a great step forward!
