Re: Certain classes carrying you through the game?
The only class I've beaten the game with was Ogre Sun Paladin. Which felt like it could handle every situation well but it didn't really EXCEL at any one particular thing.

Re: Greatly increase Dispersal glove ego drop rate
while i don't disapprove of the idea... how do you do that? By the power of code. When you find that Yeek fighting that experiement dude, when you take the option to kill him, the way to the Yeek village should be opened now provided you pass a mind save of some sort. Then you can enter and kill th...

Re: Greatly increase Dispersal glove ego drop rate
There is currently no real reason to slaughter any of towns - give the glove as a reward for entering Yeek village and killing everyone inside.

Re: 'Which difficulty is the game balanced for?'
i wasn't referring to timeless i was referring to stairs dancing and setting zone levels and stuff like that and no, synergy/good strategy is not an exploit - i never said it was If all u are doing is combining talents then you are doing something that was taught to you by the game. The game teaches...

Re: 'Which difficulty is the game balanced for?'
First the oversight exists. Then the players exploit said oversight. What does exploit mean? It means to take full advantage of something - that something being an oversight in game mechanics.
Or as is the case with malicious software, you are taking advantage of a programming oversight.

Re: 'Which difficulty is the game balanced for?'
If a game does not specifically teach the player how to do something that is more effective than the methods that have been taught to the player, I would consider that something an exploit. Simple definition to me. Never did this game teach me anything about entering an area before I plan to clear i...

Re: 'Which difficulty is the game balanced for?'
So when new players have asked which classes/races are best, the pros have been chiming in with all these secret exploits in mind?

Re: The dark secret of zigur (grab your +mind save hats)
Those mages are prisoner/gladiators/test subjects that they mistreat and keep around for training exercises. It really is dark, but not that much of a secret.

Re: Give hostile parties a max time
Or you could add the option to bribe them or as some RPGs do, to get a guarenteed retreat at the cost of dropping a random item from your inventory including gol. This wouldn't work and if it it did, this solution would be worse than the current situation. Do we really want players to horde useless...

Or you could add the option to bribe them or as some RPGs do, to get a guarenteed retreat at the cost of dropping a random item from your inventory including gol OR aligning yourself with the bandit lord should teach you how to avoid patrols (thus reducing the number of patrols groups by 75% on the ...

Re: Bulwark Rework Brainstorming
While I think that tree is a great concept, I am, to my shock, going to have to agree with Radon here. The Bulwark is meant to be a straightfoward sword and shield class, no fancy special powers. Just martial talent. the main action that you take with that talent tree is that you use your block ski...

Re: Bulwark Rework Brainstorming
Being an adventurer means you have the option of being a dick, it doesn't mean that being a dick is mandatory. So bulwark isn't necessarily slaughtering villagers or even willing to do so. No one forces you to take those actions in this game. As such, I don't think the fact that doing those th...

Re: Bulwark Rework Brainstorming
I think it's actually the opposite there; I think you're reading too much into what I said because I never claimed my idea of Bulwork was a chosen one. He could simply be a very talented, durable drunk person who refuses to die while in battle. On the other hand, I do think you're wrong about the de...

Re: Bulwark Rework Brainstorming
Well, I understand how you see it that way. But my intent with the class tree is that the armor and shield are not the source of a bulwark's power, instead it is their spirit and their desire to withstand the onslaught - that makes them different than just any other guy. It is the fighter's heart, t...
