That is unfortunate. If you were further away he wouldn't have been able to Fearscape you away from your summons. He can't keep the Fearscape up forever though. If you can hide and survive long enough, or drain his Vim/dispel the sustain you will be dropped back to where you were and your critters ...

I could, but I didn't figured it out in that moment. I play with mouse only and almost every window (inventory, character sheet, list of skills, etc) is binded to the certain mouse gesture.
