More mobility skills, knockback resistance, break line of sight as much as possible.

As far as ranged attackers go the boulder throwers are a fairly low tier threat.

I opened a certain door, got an achievement for being insane, then died after one step. The bug is that apparently that door should have given multiple warnings that opening it is A Bad Idea, but I only got the normal Vault message once before being horribly murdered by a horde of dragons.

You made the same mistake I did. Your first post must be approved before it appears, but if you're not reading the message you'll miss that. As for your question, I assume if you copied the full save directory it would work. That data might also be stored with the screenshots. I'm not actually sure.

Because I didn't launch any projectiles. This was a purely melee based character. The combat log also showed no evidence of whatever did the other 300 damage, or whatever made me attack myself. There were also no other enemies around or present in the log.

Why does that exclude a Steam key for a GoG purchase? It's not a huge deal or anything but I did want Steam achievements with the game. I'm aware the game tracks achievements anyways, but I thought it was fully transferable across mediums.
