Re: Latent Damage Type
If you use that gem in a bomb without activating infusion sustain, it will do Fire damage. If you insert two of those gems into golem, golem will do Fire damage. And if you insert it into Tirakai's Maul, the maul will do fire damage. That's all I know.

Re: Alchemist Quest and Far Portal in base.
Would you rather open Dreadfell (and later) vaults or use farportal for artifacts and XP?

Re: Randarts generation
Thank you. So randarts are several random egos plus some powers.
The wiki lists all egos, but doesn't have info on what randarts can have.
Also, it lists protective ago as "Increases armor, combat defense and physical resistance". So is it outdated info?

Randarts generation
Can absolutely any bonus be generated on "red" and "orange" randarts? Even things like resistance cap increase, which do not appear on regular items at all? Or are there some restrictions on it?

Re: Newb player, trying Alchemist, some questions
4) Almost always gems are going to worth more than the item (the exceptions are some powerful artifacts). Eventually (in Sher'Tul Fortress) you will be able to trasmogrify items into gems and then the gems into gold automatically if the gem is more valuable.

Re: Missed elixir ingredients
The most difficult ingridients to obtain in Maj'Eyal are bone giant dust for non-undead and various wyrm parts (and Daikara boss for some reason doesn't give that part upon defeat). As I understand, you have some chance to get a wyrm in Dreadfell vaults and that's it. Do wyrms also can spawn in Ruin...

Re: Accuracy bonus on swords
Why doesn't it show "crit mult" then, it would be more understandable to call one game term the same way each time.

Accuracy bonus on swords
What does "crit pwr" mean? For each point of accuracy over defence it's increasing something that's not crit chance or crit multiplier, what then?

Re: How gem inserting can be useful?
Well, if alchemist can insert gems into any body armor, even with ego, that changes it, thanks.

How gem inserting can be useful?
There are two NPCs that allow you to insert a gem into a blank ring of an appropriate tier. Also Alchemist can insert a ring into an armor (belt/helm if you go for that prodigy). However, the rings/armor of the same tier that you can find in the dungeons are almost always better than what you can ge...

Re: How do you know which talents can spellcrit and mindcrit
Some of the Wyrmic talents are mind powers AND do weapon % damage (Ice Claw, Wing Buffet). Do they use physical or mental crit then?

Is there a "wizard's mode" in ToME?
http://te4.org/characters/154164/tome/f ... d99b012e4a - this character casted a Freeze on Xaren embedded in stone which resulted in Freeze hitting the caster itself, is there something like a "wizard's mode" so I can reproduce this and see if this is really a bug?

Re: Is 35lvl orc encounter normal in a Maze?
I decided not to risk it and ran out of the Maze that time. After that I died in Sandworm Lair to a corrosive tunneler, never perceived those as threats before.

Re: Cryomancer achievement but no Ice talent tree
Yes, I've created two characters today and none had Ice category, the achievement was earned on 2015-05-20. Now I've tried to create other Archmages, and they all now have this category, strange...

Re: Cryomancer achievement but no Ice talent tree
(Haven't noticed that character page doesn't list locked categories)
Ok, but I don't see it here too:
