I turned off auto-update restriction and was able to play (long enough to unlock the Yeek saving Yeek thing). I then re-enabled the auto-update restriction in Steam and was also able to play a new Doombringer to 10. So... I don't know what's causing it beyond what is included in the post above. Chee...

One other piece of information that may be relevant. I changed the Steam settings so that it would only do automatic downloads between 3AM and 4AM as I didn't want to have steam auto-update stuff while I was away from home. I don't know if that is relevant, but all four crash reports show "lua_...

I personally highly dislike those keybinds. Mind you, I've been programming with vi since 1988, so I use them all the time in vi (well, now vim), but they are terrible keybinds for my gaming.
