Re: "Your character may have been played while not online."
So, no worries except a very small amount of people you don't know and will never meet or in any way communicate with thinking you cheated on a videogame. If you can live with that, you'll be fine. It's strange, but I find even single-player games more meaningful if other people can see how I'm doi...

"Your character may have been played while not online."
I've noticed that in my online profile all my characters are marked with the above. At a guess, it might be because I'm running Linux Mint (thank you for the port!) and the game crashes fairly regularly, taking my system down with it. It isn't often enough to put me off playing, but I now wonder if ...

How much ground to cover
This was inspired by this thread discussing whether to open the greater vaults in Dredfell, and in particular by this comment: ToME is not Angband. Diving as fast as possible for the endgame is not the optimal strategy here. I've also seen people recommending that, because monsters scale with your l...

Are there situations where auto-explore is ill-advised?
Before I find this out the hard way: are there particular classes/zones/difficulties which are ill-suited to the use of auto-explore?
I've just started a Shalore Archmage, and while she's only on Normal, I'd like to both avoid getting one-shotted and avoid wasting playing time unnecessarily.

What does "Toggle list of seen creatures" do?
The keybinding list includes the above command, bound (I think) by default to CTab. It generates log messages "Displaying talents" and "Displaying creatures" when toggled, but appears to have no other effect, with either the Classic or Minimalist HUD styles. I couldn't find anyth...
