Re: Finally unlocked necromancer
About this unlock... I have had the last three pieces of necromancer lore for AGES but the first one has never dropped for me. Do you only get necromancer lore if you play as an archmage/alchemist (which I haven't done for a while)? Or am I just being really unlucky? (Also - not sure if this is a bu...

Re: Skin Tone options for player dolls
I think it would be wise to avoid attaching any kind of meaning to the skin tones. So I'd avoid the idea of skin tone being related to race, region or any other personal attributes. Otherwise, down the road, we're going to get into a situation where someone writes some lore that says the (e.g.) ligh...

Re: Is there a good way to beat your doomed clone?
Your shade cannot switch equipment. If the corrupter summons your shade while you're unarmed, the shade will also be unarmed. Oh crikey, as a skirmisher that would have made him laughably easy. I might do that next time to get the unlock, although I agree it seems way too scummy to use as a general...

Is there a good way to beat your doomed clone?
I have got as far as the doomed clone fight twice - first with my Thalore Oozemancer, which I had to abandon after a 20-minute stalemate, and second with my Cornac Skirmisher, who just died earlier today. Is this a winnable fight with every character, or are there certain class/race combos that do b...

Re: Rhaloren Camp Post alliance with the High Corrupter
This is a really good idea... it would be great if any tier one dungeons that you skipped became more interesting/challenging later in the game in a plot-related way. (I know there's something about Backup Guardians, but I managed to miss them the only time I made it back from the East.) Maybe if yo...

Re: Add framework for optional Conducts for extra challenge
I think it would be most fun if the game doesn't *restrict* you when you're aiming for a conduct - so it doesn't limit your XP or remove slots or prevent you from doing things. Instead, as I think Effigy was suggesting, you just have to make a voluntary decision not to do certain things, and then tr...

Challenge runs?
I was just thinking - all the challenge runs I've seen mentioned on this forum are about trying to win the game on Madness - which usually seems to involve building the strongest possible character and maximising damage output (while also playing with godlike levels of skill and patience). But are t...

Re: Character advice - Cornac Sun Paladin
Thanks! I did read your guide before I started, but as it was the first time I'd ever played Sun Paladin I didn't expect to get very far and just wanted to try out all the different abilities. If I have another go and want to seriously try and win, I'll be more ruthless in my build. I do think some ...

Re: Character advice - Cornac Sun Paladin
Dead! Haha! I didn't even get to level 35... ran into a rare lightning troll necromancer who Impending Doomed, lightninged and rigor mortised me, plus I got whacked by a lot of skeleton mage spells. I thought Second Life would save my bacon, but although the log says it triggered and supposedly rest...

Character advice - Cornac Sun Paladin
I am enjoying my first good run on Roguelike mode with a Sun Paladin, who is currently level 34 and ploughing his way through Reknor: http://te4.org/characters/135230/tome/047a6b79-76a5-47c5-a9c7-9c42f559d490 I can't really imagine why a Sun Paladin would side with the Grand Corruptor and corrupt th...

Oh boy, can we have an Elephantmancer class in the next version? Please, DarkGod? Please?
(It would be powerful in the mid and late game, but a complete liability against giant mice early on...)

Re: YAVP! Thalore Oozemancer - Normal Adventure [1.2.5]
Thanks! Haha, yeah, I'm aware of how punishing roguelike mode will be! But I find it much more fun* to play when I know that one mistake will ruin everything. * In that special sense of the word "fun" that only roguelike players understand... the kind of fun that involves shouting, tantrum...

YAVP! Thalore Oozemancer - Normal Adventure [1.2.5]
http://te4.org/characters/135230/tome/531a8792-feda-442b-afae-5ab1817cd8de OK, I've read that oozemancers are overpowered, but crikey! I am in no way a good player of any computer games, especially roguelikes - but this guy was basically invincible from level 30ish/Reknor onwards (I died a couple of...
