In my view 3 or 4 shadows only makes a small difference in whether you survive. 3 shadows can do everything 4 shadows can do a little slower in most cases. When undead use the blood of life, a small part of their body becomes alive enough to inscribe an infusion on it. Still not enough to give them a second life though.

I make decisions pretty slowly compared to other people, I remember my rogue and summoner both spending about 10-12 hours on a Saturday each just for high peak. My last winner was over 50 hours in play time.
