ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Had this happen a couple of times now when I have used "Fiery Aegis" on doom bringer class. The screen starts to flash then I have to use task manager to close the game. Crash log attached.

I don't seem to be getting any achievements registering on both the game server and steam. I completed the tutorial and got "Baby Steps" but that is it. Any ideas why this may be? In a game with so many achievements it would be nice to be earning some
