Break Risk

The game says I need to play an older version to continue my characters, which I could do, but I read on FAQ that playing old characters in a new version may break the character. Is there a way I can risk playing my older characters in the newest version even if it means they may break?

Re: What's the official cannon on dwarf beards?

They dress their beards differently, much like the hair on human heads (dwarves are less fussy about that - the beard is a much more personal statement). If anything dwarf women grow their beards longer, but when plaited this wouldn't be very noticeable. A female dwarf shaving off her beard would b...

Re: How I Died Again For The First Time

From what I've seen so far Nightmare is definitely not the intended difficulty, which is pleasantly surprising. I probably thought any text (entering a zone or opening a door) was just there for flavor/lore/role-play. I'll be more sensitive to the words/text & already changed it so all text last...

How I Died Again For The First Time

Most games are "Nightmare = Normal" "Normal = Easy" and "Easy = theSims version" which are gradually further made easier in later patches as new items/skills/classes/races are made while any player nerf is frowned upon in many communities. All below played on Nightmare ...

Re: What's the official cannon on dwarf beards?

Some human males grow mustaches and others shave them. Who is to say you couldn't have some female dwarves with beards and some without beards? Custom Tiles so everyone is right? But for the default dwarf female image... Page1 & 2 Images= We're not using images that big so that's not how they wi...

I did both, but as mentioned I did get it to work only by doing the above points I made.

Re: Offline Questions

Yes, I copied everything both times, but I got it to work the 2nd time because: 1. It must be copied from the same operating system. My download on Vista doesn't work when copied over to WindowsXP. 2. When asked between open or save the zip file, you must *save* the zip file to your preferred locati...

Re: Offline Questions

I downloaded installer 1.0.5 from the main website, which gave me the t-engine.exe and t-engine-launcher.exe for ToME. The launcher added additional files into that download folder. I copied all these and moved them over to the offline computer that has Windows XP. t-engine-launcher.exe says "E...

Offline Questions

I read the FAQ and searched, but couldn't find anything regarding the below.

Is there a way to install ToME to a computer that is never connected to the internet? A zip or rar file with the game perhaps?

Is offline LAN multiplay possible?

Thanks in advance.
