Re: Psionic class lore
I'd venture that the Spellblaze problem was more ecological than mechanical. As arcane forces are weak there, sunlight lacking, and blight abundant, the ecology has grown to depend on an absence of aether and low positive/light. The spellblaze sent a jolt of arcane, stripped away clouds of acid and ...

Re: Psionic class lore
Mostly yes, although the threads stuff is more interpretation than anything. The universe is not constitued of elements like fire & such; it's made just like our own of atoms, molecules, quarks, .. with a little bit more in the form of arcane force which allows to alter the rest. "Sadly&qu...

Re: Psionic class lore
Thanks. Knowing what is firm allows us to focus on the malleable. What about farportal worlds, though? Those, together with the general assumption that the sun is a star in this universe, leads me to assume that the universe is quite homogeneous. If the gods are local and are responsible for lofting...

Re: auto-use when enemy in range
Also, the cursed's rampage talent should toggle off auto-use, or allow instants to be used without changing duration, but the latter would be a big shift for gameplay balance. And predator/fears need to look better in comparison to rampage, not worse.

Re: Psionic class lore
I would caution that horrors should not be viewed as corrupted, especially if some aspect of the primordial horrors is connected with the recent spread of affliction in the ecology. Okay, a lot of stuff you're saying is contradictory to canon or unsupported, but this is just flat-out wrong in a way...

Re: Psionic class lore
Necromancy is generally about harnessing the dead, generally by arcane means. The mere existence of souls is a testament to their power. The basal animus of a living creature sits in the body and the body is primed to move it, and will wither away after death unless caught and manipulated. Souls are...

Re: Psionic class lore
okay I kinda agree with most of your proposal there parcel but one thing that really bothers me is you saying that psionic and wilder powers are relatively new things compared to magic. considering how horrors are psionic based constructs of amakathel if anything nature is the newer one heck consid...

Re: Psionic class lore
The model that I am generally proposing is that pure psionics are the most conscious users of something that they identify in other classes as well. Basically, mindslayers are correct that mind and matter and energy are fundamentally yoked together and that the reach of perception and intended movem...

Re: Psionic class lore
Nature has a mind furtively growing, and as part of a consequence of that local minds are starting to see a path to growth. Even before M'E gained its weird sentience, there were psionic aspects of certain large minds like those of bloated horrors (try giving them a rubik's cube in between mind sear...

Re: Reworking Chronomancy ver 2
Scouting should be passive or sustained, generally, IMO. How about an effect like 'spacetime periscoping ' -- the ability to see an area in range X of a target when dealing temporal or (magical?) physical damage to it? If you wanted to add higher tier skills you could throw a status on the mob so da...

Re: Challenge Modes - Ideas and Feedback
For Do or Die, much like Pariah, I think that a good scaling system needs to be found empirically. One idea on Do or Die is that the bulk of the damage scales inversely with the number of targets in sight. That is, using a regen infusion when you see 15 clear brittle oozes yields the same penalty as...

Re: In your opinion, what the easiest class to win the game?
Well, I didn't check his abilities, so I didn't notice that he could cast Fearscape until it was too late. In general I am not using Inspect Creature on every boss I see. There are so many abilities and I have no idea what most of them do, let alone how to counter them. I guess better players do ch...

Re: Challenge Modes - Ideas and Feedback
Litterbug -- whatever you de-equip is transmogrified. Do or die -- On every action you take, you are damaged for each foe in sight that you don't damage. Gangly Gangs -- Mobs can melee you within range 2 provided that they have line of sight. Party Time -- Adventurers roam each level. Sidekicks -- F...

Re: In your opinion, what the easiest class to win the game?
Opening the door is always instant, no? Wouldn't many classes survive that with the no-teleport restriction? For example, anorithil would drop circles and the unique giant would be silenced.

Re: Weapon Mastery and Knife Mastery
Another option about exotic mastery, in lines with this suggestion. Keep the general idea of a bonus in all exotics for Legacy of the Naloren, with the theory that nagas have a Third Way of weapon techniques based on their restricted (but high) agility and their extreme strength in manipulating a we...
