as of 1.2.5 (or 1.0.1 of DLC) the doombringer has apparently seen some damage nerfs, and some skills were removed, merged or added.

It generally still works the same way (on normal) but damage may seem underwhelming and skills will be different. Take guide with grain of salt.

Will this be fine for 1.2.5?

I believe there were skill rebalances (and in one case, a Doombringer tree merged 2 skills and got a new skill entirely.)

Wondering if this would impact the addon negatively.

Speaking of which, this would allow Steam users a way to launch previous versions on Steam. As of now Steam pretty much automatically updates you game, and although you can postpone updates, there's no way to revert the Steam version.
