Re: fluff vs gameplay disargeements
The relevant part is that according to the game lore Zigur does indeed go after potion makers You're generalizing here. You're wrong, what I'm doing is drawing the only logical conclusion from the available evidence. 1) In other words, since 'available evidence' is not the same thing as 'absolute e...

The relevant part is that according to the game lore Zigur does indeed go after potion makers You're generalizing here. The only thing you can deduce from the lore with certainty is that some Ziguranth indeed go after potion makers (assuming the 'story of my salvation' isn't a fabricated piece of p...

Re: fluff vs gameplay disargeements
You're saying that characters of the Alchemist class are not alchemists. What Zonk said. It's obvious that characters of the Alchemist class are not potion brewers (where's the talent?), and thus likely not members of the Alchemist Guild - or they wouldn't need wannabe alchemists to brew quest poti...

Re: fluff vs gameplay disargeements
The lorefail regarding Zigur and Alchemy is that a Zigur follower can still benefit from Alchemical potions, when really he should refuse to help any Alchemist. He should, but won't - and that's not "lorefail", just the Maj'Eyal equivalent of our "cognitive dissonance" - like ra...

Re: Run, you fools!
Make that one of two optional, mutually exclusive quests. The second quest would have you fight an uber-boss with nightmare/corruption skills who summons you to the Dreamscape, and if you lose, then: 1) You get -100 to mental saves 2) You can't use Celestial skills anymore 3) You get an annoying sid...

What Crim meant is, if you die during the ambush after killing the boss, then it's counted as a real death.Bonzard wrote:no I died during the ambush I only made it half way to killing them all.Crim, The Red Thunder wrote:Did you die after kiling the boss but before killing everything else?
If so, death counts against you.

Re: How to edit my char
Bring the debug console up and try something like -- game.player:unlearnTalent(game.player.T_FLAME) and if you want your talent point back (assuming you haven't any unassigned talent point at the moment), type -- game.player.unused_talents=1 Be warned this will tag your character as a cheat, though.

Re: [1.0.5g] Alchemist Golem Bug
Maybe you could try to arrange a meeting with an adventurer party or a Zigur patrol, and self-destruct on the ambush map?

Re: [1.0.4] First Winner - Cornac Summoner
gave one life to Athamaton - sadly, I'm not the hero which will slay him! Heh, don't feel bad - I've cleared with a Summoner without dying once, and then lost ALL my lives to Atamathon (even though I've beaten him quite easily with other classes I struggled more to beat the game with.) Maybe I'm do...

Re: Surviving the mid-game?
Besides always having some form of teleport in reserve, what are some general tactics to survive the mid-game? Wow, vast question. Adaptability, before anything else. If a particular monster type is causing you problems, then pause, check its character sheet carefully (strengths as well as weakness...

Re: what are Highers good for?
Highborn Bloom is useful early, but mid-endgame it's kinda meh. The other racials turn out to be useful or not, depending on your build. I realy like Overseer of Nations, for long-range (11+) nuking with Gravity Well, Earthquake, that kind of spell. Or long range debuffing with Inferno+Cleansing Fla...

This bug has been here in a while. Can happen with all underground levels - damp & intimidating caves, Rat Lich.
Although I've never seen zone bosses respawn because of it.

Sorry, but when one has to use a language he basically learnt while surfing the net, he's bound to commit malaproprisms once in a while. Why is it so disturbing, by the way? Just curious.Umbrall wrote:Also, your misuse of the term calculus disturbs me.

Re: Spell / Phantasm re-work
- Is there a scaling value which retains usefulness for an Archmage but disallows screen-wide vaporization by a Shadowblade? (I can't find one.) Seems like my 2-lines post got lost into the flames? As I wrote earlier, you could just multiply damage by a factor that depends on the current stealth va...

Re: Why not more randomness?
I get this. You're looking for a way to get the game to help you let go, to give up control in the face of inexorable and ineffable complexity. I was only half-serious here . (Although I'm really a control freak, and while I don't *always* do it, I indeed switch to Brainiac mode for serious f...
