Re: Prodigy Balance Discussion
I'm not sure only blocking in melee range is a smart idea!!! Counterstrike works for ALL melee strikes. If there's a ghoul adjacent to you, and you cast a spell at Skeleton Armoured Warrior, you will suffer a counterstrike from the ghoul. Which makes little sense as far as realism goes, but is a sma...

Re: Prodigy Balance Discussion
I think the problem is with very low cooldowns, not Eternal Guard. Low level shields are more tactical, you need to think more carefully about when to block. With high level shields, you spend more and more of your time blocking. As for 1 turn block, the only thing that makes it tactically useful is...

Re: Prodigy Balance Discussion
I'm surprised to agree with HousePet. But he has a point! Yes, Eternal Guard is powerful. It is especially powerful with high level shields and low cooldown - I think only then it becomes problematic. But does anyone try bulwarks WITHOUT Eternal Guard ? Blocking is quite sucky. You spend a turn and ...

Re: Marauder Improvements
I agree about health per level - Rogues have +0 HP per level, warriors have +2 or +3. Marauders are something between a warrior and rogue, so they should get +1. My Ghoul Marauder is doing fine. The only black spot on my otherwise perfect record(I saved ALL escorts with a race that can only heal by ...

Re: Melee auto-target bugs
Auto-targetting works even when blinded, when you can't know if a creature is still there or retreating. Same goes for invisible enemies. If an unseen enemy goes to another square, he won't fool my autoaim.

Two ghoul bugs (1.0.4)
Version 1.0.4, Linux, no add-ons. 1. Ghoulish Leap works even when pinned. 2. After clearing alternative Lake Nur and killing the Weirdling Beast, I inserted the rod. I immediately talked to the butler to exhaust all dialogue choices. He also offered to improve my Cloak of Deception, saying it will ...

Re: Fixing talent point juggling
Yes, tooltips could be improved. I understand they used to be worse. Good point about some talents not having uniform scaling - for example Ghoul Rot creates ghoul if you kill a rotting enemy, but this ability is added at 5/5 talent level. I have no clue how useful this will turn out, how strong the...

Re: Runic Mastery tree (analogue to Fungus)
Just a quick note - when attempting to design new runes, remember that monsters are going to use them as well. Here are 2 ideas that sound nice at first but could have terrible consequences: - Flash rune: Instant use. The next activated ability takes no time to use. (So instant Disengage, Stunning B...

Re: Fixing talent point juggling
I think the proposed fix (you can only unlearn level1 talents) is the best solution I've heard. Respec was added to give people a chance to try out skills - scaling differs between skills, and some descriptions are a bit vague. Just 1 point in a skill lets you do that, the tooltip will reveal how mu...

I like firing Pinning Arrow at a drake which just activated Lightning Speed. Then I stand there and insult it.

Re: Marauder Improvements
I think you're overestimating the importance of boss fights a bit. Yes, they're important but you know almost exactly what the challenge will be, and can prepare. Slime-covered weapons are great, and I don't like using runes on Marauder (maybe Acid Wave would be good). Second, some bosses summon - t...

Re: Talent and equipent prereqs use only PERMANENT ability s
Currently, Prodigy stat requirements are almost meaningless. Especially Willpower, Cunning and Magic are easy to raise with items. It feels like you're shopping for prodigies (and grindging damage for them!!!), not earning them. I even had a winning Doomed with I Can Carry The World, about 7 stat po...

Re: Sun Paladin: Make Retribution not harm allies
I don't see much of a problem - you need to be careful, but you have enough skills to protect you even without that. I once killed Subject Z with Retribution.

Re: Marauder Improvements
First of all, their survivability ranks among the worst out of any class I have played. For some reason Marauders get a +0 health rating when they completely lack the stealth and trapping capability of rogues, or the teleports and ambushing of Shadowblades. Even Arcane Blades get +2 Health Rating t...

Line Of Sight bug with Scatter Shot [1.0.4]
Scatter Shot affects an area - you fire an arrow at every enemy you see . If a creature is behind the corner, you can't hit it. It makes sense - you're firing multiple arrows or sling shots, not an explosive fireball. Unless you use Track. Then, Scatter Shot magically becomes an explosive grenade yo...
