This happened to me once. The only time it happened was when I decided to try something cheeky. I activated a displacement shield on myself and set the target to the Doomed boss. When the Doomed summoned a shade of me, sure enough it had a displacement shield that was ALSO targeting the Doomed boss...

I'd suggest you check out here http://te4.org/download and download the one of the linux32 or linux64 packages (full/no-music), unzip that into your home directory, change to that directory and run the t-engine executable. I thought they were applying your level before, and that was removed. Would be nice to see a bit more variation in shops. Some sort of bias would be good. Yeah, that would be good. The first times I experimented with v1.0.1 client I didn't go offline before trying out something. Moreover, I also were assuming that the new --home command line parameter would take care of not messing up with the default directory for storing settings/profile data. Turns out I was assuming wrong....
