I fully agree, the Hydra's effect is problematic. The cloud also obscures the view for a long time, so that it's hard to make out what's going on. But turning the effect into resistance-lowering feels a bit uninteresting. Especially since it will be mostly useless, with the Hydra only doing 1-2 pois...

Flavour has nothing to do with it. The problem is that optimal play requires you to grind for resources, which is against the design goals of the game.

Actually, what is needed is mention at websites with strong editorial integrity. I think the PCGamer piece fills this purpose, but that 1-2 more sources are needed.

I think that only works if there is enough room to place the summons, unfortunately. But yes, go get some means of teleportation. Then come back, teleport out and then leave the room alone.

But it does kind of look like a bug..?

Nice to hear that I'm not the only one who has been annoyed :lol: I've been doing some more thinking and would like to change my recommendation to the arctan-function. It doesn't give a hard cap (which is good) and it pushes down sell value enough. Primarily, it makes for much more readable code. So...

I think the current model achieves two things: Allow starting characters to get enough gold to buy stuff Prevent late-game characters from getting too much gold Late-game characters probably get too much gold already, as you get so much loot compared to what you may want to buy. I strongly agree with the anti-scumming crowd. Optimal play and fun play should be one and the same; pointless grinding/waiting should never be the optimal choice.

As I said, it's mostly a matter of aesthetics. It feels jarring (to me) that all valuable items sell at exactly 25.0. It would look better to get some differentiation. It would also feel more rewarding to get at least a bit more money for the best items. But it will also allow players to compare two...

When you sell/transmogrify items there is a hard cap on how much gold you can get. The maximum is 25.0 gold, which you get for every item worth 500 gold or more.
