From my point of people who havn't won yet have more fun with the game. As soon as I had won the first time I have lost some very special feeling about the game. I was very proud about the win, but the biggest goal was reached and what comes next? You can only repeat what you have allready done, alt...

Sentient weapons are fun, so from my point of view there could be only more of it :) On the other hand most of the time they become useless because they get some bad flag like chaos effects and earthquake. But maybe I just have bad luck. When it comes to sword masters compared to other masters I don...

I have two winners with ToME 1 and another two with ToME 2. The ToME 1 winner are one Sorcerer and one Black-Knight; the easiest way to win ToME 1 I believe. My both ToME 2 winners are very experimental but still very powerfull. My first winner was a Troll Swordmaster getting every corruption that i...

Yes, it's quantity about quality. I once shot down "The Destroyer" as an Archer using a bow. I bet it wasn't the damage all the arrows did but the weight of all arrows that spiked him which finally draged him down.

One thing I like about bows is you can improve you arrows at the Archery. Using this wisely you can have a lot of arrows of the same kind instead of wasting your inventory slots with 20 arrows with a bonus of this and 20 arrows with a bonus of that.

The Ring 'Anthrim' (+10) It affects your intelligence. It affects your speed. It affects your attack speed. It sustains your wisdom. It provides resistance to poison. It provides resistance to blindness. It allows you to fly. It cannot be harmed by acid, cold, lightning or fire.

I once tried a Bard. My impression was he is more powerfull when using a range weapon instead of an instrument in the D-slot. But maybe I only used the wrong tactic.
In the old ToME the Bard had an cheap range attack in the first book. This is something I miss.

I played Old Tiles all the time. But you cannot see the differnce in ego-monsters so I switched to Adam Bolts.
I never was able to get warm with ASCII, allways played with GFX since good old Nethack/Larn/Moria.

While reading all this I got an other new idea what to do with artifacts: I liked the idea from old ToME where you was able to sacrifice items to you deity. Instead of gold we get something else that helps our hero. We have enough gold later in the game anyway. Maybe not piety because then we got to...

I use the default 20 because this is enough to spice up the game. But in the midgame I usally start to powerdive and then too much yelling princesses would just annoy me. Anyway I think often to increase the number of quests just because of the Skillpoints I can spare with Fumblefinger.
