Re: Log says... but nothing was on my screen...
Make sure you have radius 10 sight (light radius + heightened senses = 10) before you do SWL, or other dark dungeons. If you go in with less than that, expect getting hit from out of sight often!

Re: solipsist class category idea: Psionic/Mental Manipulati
I had an idea to improve Mind Control, as I don't see players using a cat point just to mess around with normal enemies. 1)Player uses mind control on a randboss 2)If the boss fails a mental save, player gains control of the enemy for 0 turns 3)Player is allowed one action, this could be a step, a b...

Re: solipsist class category idea: Psionic/Mental Manipulati
I don't think it fits solipsists thematically very well. Solipsists are more about dreams, bending reality, and blurring the lines between the two. They have some raw mind damage in Psychic Assault, but it's hardly their defining feature. I've always thought of solipsists as somewhat talented psions...

Re: Move camera when off-screen enemies are spotted
Wouldn't reducing tile size via options solve that issue? I've always found the default value too high.

inf spellpower
This bug is a lot less interesting than the title suggests. I've found a randart mindstar with a mitotic ego (lets you split it into 2). Mindstars are useless for my yeek marauder, but seeing no reason not to split it, I did just that. As it turned out it glitched my character, because upon taking o...

Re: Saving CON! And undead while we're at it!
I was thinking, may be CON could also have fatigue reduction, something like .5 per point? Sinking 50 points into it would essentially let your character wear a heavy plate with no penalty. On its own the bonus is too small to carry the stat, but together with heal mod it could open new some build p...

Re: Saving CON! And undead while we're at it!
I think undead could use a buff, the lack of infusions is a hefty penalty and undead resistances don't quite make up for them. Neither bleeding, nor poison, nor fear are major concerns, so you don't get a very good deal when trading infusions and access to Zigur for protection from those statuses. G...

Re: The More You Know: Little-known quirks and game mechanic
- You can check your escort locations upon generating a character in the log file.
- If you die and pick the "restart with the same character" option, your new character will encounter escorts in the same locations (escorts themselves are still random though).

Re: Melinda and Tropes vs. Women in Video Games
Another oppressive trope down for the count. We're building a better world here folks, one irrelevant side quest at a time.

Re: Melinda and Tropes vs. Women in Video Games
I think everyone is mistaking the forest for the trees here. The forest that, may I add, is populated by bears. Oh. Oh shit, you say, and you realize that while you've been nitpicking the details of yet another bipedal character's story, you've been ignoring the entire family of Ursidae species. You...

Re: Melinda and Tropes vs. Women in Video Games
Also, how many people do like the Melinda romance, just out of curiosity? It doesn't seem to be very popular to me, but I haven't heard a lot of opinions about it. I like it, in a so-bad-it's-good sort of way. If we did a poll, 1% would say it's amusing, 2% would say it's disturbing and 97% would s...

Last time we've had a thread like this, Melinda started vomiting blight. I'm morbidly curious about where we'll end up this time.edge2054 wrote:I'm not touching the comments about sexuality. But I foresee this thread going downhill really quick from here.

Re: Melinda and Tropes vs. Women in Video Games
There is nothing wrong with having tropes in a video game. We're not trying to break new ground in writing or character development here or engage in social commentary. The writing in Maj'Eyal campaign is just a means of providing a bit of context. For instance, Elandar and Argoniel are the game's f...

Re: First level racial talents
Skeletons are the dullest race as far as racial skills go and they suffer somewhat from poor scaling. Bone shield and reassemble are extremely powerful early on, but towards the end of the game they become just another 600 point shield and just another 500 health heal, and with fairly long cooldowns...

Re: I got dead! But was a fun journey!
Distortion isn't very expensive though, only Maelstrom costs a lot. But it has a very long cooldown, so it works out in the end. Why would you not want Distortion? It's your only source of AoE stun, knockback and pseudo-pin (via Maelstrom). Once you'll have 5/5/1/3 in it (by level 15), you'll see ju...
