Sci-Fi based game using T-Engine

I have been mulling over trying to write a space sci-fi game using T-Engine. I am curious about two things:

1. Has anyone done this before?
2. Any helpful guides or tips on how to make use of the engine?

Are throwing knives considered 'melee' for the purpose of the game? If they are not, then there may be a bug. I have noticed that I will take damage when I hit certain enemies with throwing knives. Second Life Did not Trigger

I was in combat... depending on Second Life to save me... and was under a DOT... second life did not trigger. Does DOT damage not trigger the skill?

Question about Staff Mastery.

I picked it up and then finally put a point in to it... but I have no mana regen. That seems to make it a less than ideal tree. Am I missing something in this guide?

Yes, thanks for reminding me about the vision range. The latest paradox made it to level 29, but was abandoned due to The Master being in the room with the stair down.
