Personally, I get around worrying about this by using the level 1 prodigy addon http://te4.org/games/addons/tome/starting-prodigy I'm not sure where I stand on Light being available period, but I hate having to roll the dice and/or save/reload to get the anorthil. Thanks for fixing that last bug. Just a bit of feedback on the Umbra tree for Anorthils: I was pretty excited to try this, and was pretty let down when I finally unlocked it. I like the idea behind the new sunpally 2h tree and all but ehh... Why so worried about making a 2h attack that actually hits hard in comparison to Assault/Overpower/Flurry? Maybe it's more that those attacks need nerfed, but still, none of the new 2h attacks hits very hard at all, even Execute, tho...

I'm actually about to go for High Peak on my current Nightmare Anorthil... Wish that Umbra tree had been out when I started it! Though it's really been a cakewalk so far anyways

If you like addons, Ghouls make fantastic Flensers, from Doctornull's class pack. Also, that prodigy that sprays blight and heals you for damage done is an amazing combo with Retch, especially on a Blight-themed class - it's very close to as effective as Cauterize for keeping you alive, and it has t...

I like the idea, but haven't found any reason to actually carry one yet. They are heavy, and even a caster can't use them without a shortstaff. A melee typically has better things to carry in that slot, like a shield or 2nd weapon. If it didn't take turns to switch back and forth, I'd be more likely...

Hmm, given that the latest release of this that I see on the ToME addon site is named Light and Sound or something, should I be expecting sound effects? The Light Orb and Dark Orb spells you start with both do not have any.

Funny, Ghoul Flenser is where I was going to test it. I plan to go for that aoe blight-puke prodigy, as it sounds like it could be pretty OP when combined with Retch, and Flenser would be a perfect class to take advantage of that combo :)

SW damage does seem better than I initially thought. I am all for buffing Surge damage a bit, though. I actually dropped my shortstaff for a tier 1 Skeletal Claw (the whip). It's perfect for this class - the on hit:melee procs from Flurry, and the On hit:spell procs from things like Lightning Jump.....
