Re: Sponsoring edge for remaking redundant classes
In long discussion strings (like the few Doomed reworks proposed recently) we are bound to find some bright ideas that are definitely improvement to the classes Exactly my thoughts about a year ago where we started mindslayer and wyrmic rework discussions. Apparently practice has proven that in suc...

Re: Low Health Pop-Up Option
Low health warnings that required space to dismiss were an option in ToME 2. If it wasn't too much automation then it's not too much automation now. That sounds like a decent option. A few years ago I suggested blocking player input for a 1-3 seconds when health drops below a threshold but pressing...

Re: "Awakening" or subclass quests [spoilers]
@Radon26 I think I wasnt clear enough about the summoner. Point is instead of giving you ability to assume control over a summon(as it is now), we can give player automatic control over any summon or himself whenever they have a turn. This effect might be temporary. Basically it'll let you decide wh...

Re: "Awakening" or subclass quests [spoilers]
How about having a quest for each damage element which would give the character an Elemental Surge and Endless Woes style effect for that element? Venturing into a place of strong elemental power and proving you mastery by defeating a guardian would be nice. No. Any numerical buff that's the same f...

Make mines trigger on movement abilities
...because it'd allow so many awesome synergies. And yes, I'm mainly talking about synergy of PM gravity and teleport tree with warp mines. It seems just wrong, boring and unsynergetic that currently trap is only triggered if victim steps on it and trap is completely ignored if victim is pushed onto...

Re: "Awakening" or subclass quests [spoilers]
We already have a "random skill tree" as a reward for random escorts. I can't say having something like this is a good or bad idea, it's just completely out of topic, I'm afraid. Class advancement is definitely meant to be pre-designed and pre-balanced, not cheap random stuff that may eith...

Re: "Awakening" or subclass quests [spoilers]
I agree that progression past level ~30 is getting way slower. However, I don't see a solution to this without power creep. Until level 24 you're getting new abilities and that has a huge impact on your character. Past this threshold you're just improving what you already have and gain prodigies. Bu...

Re: "Awakening" or subclass quests [spoilers]
@Radon I don't think we need to make as major changes as making our current classes into subclasses. My suggestion is to give just a slight advancement for every class, not to make current builds into different subclasses. There may be only one advancement path for every class(maybe the same advance...

Re: game lowers color temperature on computer
It looks like SDL that tome runs on somehow affects your monitor settings. For me it's gamma that being reset. Probably you have custom monitor settings just like me and when tome is launched(and every time you load a game) those settings are reset to default which's annoying. Debugging that would b...

Re: "Awakening" or subclass quests [spoilers]
I definitely think that prodigies is a good thing about the game and should be left untouched. As another example of class advancements one may consider is super-casualized and dumb overall but still a game that has class advancements is Dragon Age: Inquisition. You may start as a mage, make a mage ...

Re: Sponsoring edge for remaking redundant classes
Yeah that's great you brought up those rework topics. If you were more observant you'd notice that I spent plenty of time in those discussions as well. It just turns out that everyone in the community tries to pull the blanket to their own side and everyone has their own vision of the reworks. It al...

Re: "Awakening" or subclass quests [spoilers]
Apparently I'm failing to express the idea properly. Maybe it's easier to refer to some other game that has awakenings/subclasses. Check out Dungeon Fighter Online, Darkblood Online, Latale. Subclassing is way more significant alteration of your character, it's more like rebirth with more specialize...

Re: "Awakening" or subclass quests [spoilers]
No. I don't think awakening is anywhere close to prodigy phylosophy. Prodigy is a really powerful lategame ability that strengthens you and subclass is something that _alters_ you. Usually you lose some aspect of your character to strengthen others(like necromancer sacrifices humanity for lichdom), ...

"Awakening" or subclass quests [spoilers]
I think that far east part of the game is realatively straightforward and not as exciting as the west part. The main reasons are that your character progresses way slower in east and there's not so many super-duper-dangerous dungeons as dark crypt and unique events like caldera/bearscape/whatever. O...
