ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Hi, Just had something odd happen. While on the world map my character suddenly became unable to move. The game is still running, I can acces my inventory and information screens just can't move. I can even see npc patrols walk past. I've tried all the obvious things like reloading, exiting the game...
