ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Is it possible to resize the "play screen" (not sure what to call it but not the window)? When I try to use Minimalist the "play screen" is full screen and behind all of my buttons,stats,maps,etc. Often my character is out of view, covered my these items.

Parts of my game screen are being covered by my bars. At points my character is completely offscreen. Is this a known issue with Minimalist or perhaps some settings I can change. I think I've tried everything but maybe not? Scroll Distance is set @20.
