Re: Sawbutcher overpowered or campaign too easy?
The campaign overall does seem easier as well, that's true. There's no build check like Master in the midgame, and the last boss is easier. No High Peak random bosses either. I finished the campaign on nightmare with SB earlier, now doing a psyshot run. So far (lvl 40 ish) it's been about as easy/ha...

Re: Sawbutcher overpowered or campaign too easy?
Yeah, I had the same experience, and yeah they're way overpowered. But afaik they're already set up for nerf as well, one of the devs was talking about nerfing Saw Wheels on the chat. Though I'm not sure if it's just Saw Wheels. SBs are damn tough and still deal great damage even if stuck in a corri...

Missing Breeding Pit boss
Yeah, apparently sometimes bosses go missing, think it's a known bug. Uploading a save file anyway in case it helps anything.
It's orc greatmother that's missing, dug whole breeding pit 5 open just to be really sure :)

Re: Yeeks and the Arena Quest
I'd love this. It's really annoying to forget about the arena on any character and end up 2 points short.Zonk wrote: 2)Remove the level limit on the arena quest. Maybe it shouldn't be doable when the storm is there, but after that is done, the rogue should be back and willing to give you the quest.

Re: Saves vs resistances
Yeah, they aren't really *needed*, but they're usually far more reliable than saves. So as long as they're readily available they're better than most other stats, especially for melee classes. Removing every possible random influence is usually the best way to go in roguelikes. Also infusions aren't...

Re: Saves vs resistances
Agreed, so much (and on all points). This is a major thing that bothers me all the time. As iaru wrote, early game most cool items are pretty useless if they don't have stun/confusion immunity. And late in the game it's quite easy to get both and ignore that aspect of the game completely.

Re: Solipsist feedback.
Early solipsist randoms with summons are incredibly deadly and annoying. The solipsist usually can take some beating and may have strong cc, and the summon itself is equal to a random boss. Later on most people have confuse/stun immunities, which randoms happily completely bypass by using sleep effe...

Re: Fresh and Clean Language Update Addon
Seems pretty great addon. Just hard to notice the differences, as I'm habitually skipping most text by now. This kind of polish is really nice, I remember being a bit bothered about some of the text when I started playing. By the way, there's seems to be a 'd' missing from 'end' at Trollmire's npcs....

Re: A bit frustrated
Yeah, I don't think ToME is significantly different from other roguelikes in the fact that most deaths are preventable (Ok, so the only roguelike I'm rather familiar with besides ToME is DCSS, and maybe Nethack but anyway). Most of my deaths in ToMe come from carelessness. And also there's the fact ...

Re: A bit frustrated
I have to agree, stuns and confusions are still somewhat stupid. Early game they're incredibly dangerous (though getting past Daikara and beyond without dying isn't that hard anyway), and somewhere past midgame they cease to exist because 100% immunities from items aren't that hard to get. I think s...

Some (possible) bugs
Solipsist's Projection works weirdly with things that reduce movement energy cost. As I understand, summon duration is reduced every action regardless of how much energy movement costs. That means Projection can move exactly as many squares before duration runs out regardless of how high movement sp...

Re: Epidemic in b39...too powerful?
I don't see anything wrong with that. I don't think anybody particularly bothers with disease resistance in any case, so ignoring disease resistance doesn't matter. From player's (using the ability) point of view, this simply helps heavy disease builds against certain enemies. If Vimsense and other ...

Re: New player, feedback and stuff
Soul Rot, Blood Grasp and Blood Spray all have range 10 on max rank, and are all very damaging. Oh yeah, about that Cyst Burst by the way. Would it be too much if it spread all of the diseases on the original target on other targets? Seeing as spreading 3 diseases to all targets that way requires 4 ...

Re: [b38] Unreachable quest items
Digging trees doesn't even make sense. Especially as there's a quest for finding the treasure, this doesn't seem ideal to me.

Re: New player, feedback and stuff
Maybe VD could be smarter and only apply a disease the target doesn't have and maybe a special fourth disease that stacks once the other three diseases are applied. Something like that could be nice. Afaik Reavers could use the buff anyway. The possible fourth disease should be something that's use...
