Re: Class: Gardener [b42]
OK, I'm just about to hit lvl 20 (about to head to Tempest Peak) and I though I'd provide some more feedback. One of the reasons I like this class is that it has a very solid foundation of existing skill trees – Celestial Light provides great defensive/recovery options, Chants for straight defence, ...

Re: [b42] Not all talents are show via "inspect enemy"
This is the case for a lot of NPC's that have 'monster-only' talents; for example, oozes and molds display not talents when inspecting, when the have Multiply, Spit Poison (some of them), etc. Same thing holds for some of Summoner summons (out of the top of my head, Flamespitter does not display Fla...

Re: Class: Gardener [b42]
I have to say, Gardeners are weird, but also very fun! Another great one grayswandir and this time right up my alley, since Summoners are probably my favourite class in TOME. I'm currently playing one, got her to lvl 11, but I though I'd give some feedback and offer some encouragement before I go to...

Re: Iron Prison game mode
To me, the advantage of this mode would be that it would be a game mode that would finally bring back grinding (in a randomly generated way). That's exactly what I was going for. Hmm...I'm not sure how 'grinding' or 'farming' would work in this context. In fact, I think one of the major strengths o...

Re: Iron Prison game mode
Just to chime in and say that I would love to see a new game mode that focuses on exploring randomly generated levels (based on the farportals code), with a central hub that the player returns to, as suggested by bricks. A big selling point for me would be that the game mode would have an ending-the...
Re: [b41] Monk
Confusion resist sounds good, but I don't want it to overlap too much with Inner Clarity. Maybe half the bonus to physical and mental saves as well? Actually, I just got a neat idea. What if Ki Shield instead converts 50% of all damage you receive to mind damage, and then lets Mind damage hit stami...
Re: [b41] Monk
Anyway, I've coded up a rough generic tree for them that I'll be testing out over the next week. I specifically want it to not use stamina, and be nice for any class that uses mindpower. It uses willpower, and still needs a name. Inner Peace : Sustain. Reduces mind damage by 20%, mindpower by a sma...
Re: [b41] Monk
I just tried a Monk (got to lvl 10) and the class is very fun; working out optimal skill combos to optimise damage and minimise cooldowns is very engaging and the class brings something new to the game. Some feedback and possible bugs: I kept running out of Stamina, even though I invested in Dragon ...

Returning to TOME [b41]
I’ve just returned to TOME b41 and just wanted to say how impressed I am with the game and the constant stream of significant updates. To Darkgod and all other contributors, a heartfelt thank you for making one of the best roguelikes our there. A few specific points of feedback on the changes I noti...

Re: Warning in the Last Hope Graveyard
I have to agree; the Graveyard is by far the most difficult area on the West, so some sort of warning for new players would be welcome. In fact, I like both suggestions by Grey, especially the warning message which is think is very well written (btw, the lore in this game is fantastic). On the other...

Re: Adventurers resource pools
It's not only adventurers but uniques in general. I just came across a unique orc in the prides that had around 4000 mana and Disruption Shield (damage goes to mana instead to health)! I don't remember his level, but I was lvl 48, so I expect he was at the high 60s.

Re: Make wands self-charging, but require tool slot
I also agree that wand need some changes. The most useful wands in the current mechanics are the wands of teleport - I also used some blasting wands and some wands of illumination, but in very niche situations. The niche wands are , well, niche and suffer from the potion syndrome; store everything a...

Re: Cleared the room of death!
Yes, did it in the first go. Entered at lvl 39, finished at lvl 44 - every dragon gives you a level. I found nothing of value to me in the room of death; all I got was the achievement (and happy feelings managing to pull it off). I didn't intent to fight them at first; I just through an AoE and star...

Cleared the room of death!
...and all I got was a lousy achievement! :D First time to do that, using my overpowered Anorithil. Really tense fight, only possible to survive using hit and run tactics with damage over-time spells. The overpowered drakes also have a tendency to hit each other with their breath weapons, which also...
