[1.6.7] Bug or runaway effect of Overkill?

So I was fighting Elandar and Argoniel in NM as an Annihilator. Fight was going ok, I built up some stacks of miasma, then unleashed a fumigate and... died from full (or near full) health. Looking at the log, I somehow took 2k damage from Overkill (I think from Argoniel, but not 100% sure). My guard...

I like burglar's alchemist's lamps. Not because they're good for stealth classes, but because their description says "A normal brass lantern, enhanced by alchemy to make it brighter", while they give you -7 light radius. Brighter indeed.

You can enter the old forest with a level 1 character. That dungeon is always open, and always at the same location on the world map.

Didn't some people use to have problems with the rain effect in old forest? I have no idea if one can disable that though.

Randomly generated bosses are the thing that really stops me from playing on Roguelike. Confusion can be reliably dealt with using a mental wild infusion in the early game, stun is a bit worse since wild infusions aren't a reliable solution for it, but you eventually become immune to both of them. ...

ToME 4 is very combat-oriented. So in order to let players focus on fights, DarkGod has tried to lower the tedium of everything that does not happen during combat as much as possible. You might think that not having an identification meta-game and not having to manage stashes of potions are downside...

The area behind that door is very large, and the enemy density there is much lower than in the entrance. So yeah, whenever I play a class that can't kill these guards fast, I just teleport away, and then come back once the rest of the level is clear.

I really like that in tome I don't have to jump through all kinds of hoops to access information, and I can just focus on decision making. There's no recommended level for it because you can't really choose when to do it. I think it can trigger any time you move on the world map and your level is greater or equal to 24. My humble opinion is that the race really needs a way to regen HP. I think an undead race without any way to do that would be very difficult to play as most classes.

If the rune's paradox reduction gets taken away, then it would really need to stop bringing back enemies at full health. Even right now I'm not sure it's worth using by anyone but paradox mages, because of that bug/feature.
