I guess that answers my initial question of "Has the clone bug been fixed in b36"?
Since it seems to not have been, is there a workaround? I have a b35 character stuck in a dead-end behind my (apparently) unmovable clone.

I have had the same bug. The clone is immovable - making this game-ending without some teleportation if it blocks the only path out.
