Necromancer's minions should die if they are out of the aura after a few turns. Since you are in mouse form.... you would assume you are out of an aura... but apparently not =/

Temporal Wardens, since they have the archery class talent tree unlocked, should start the game with a bow in their inventory at least. Yup, area transitions.

Started a fresh Cursed skeleton character, left the starter dungeon, noticed mark of the Spellblaze was there still, visited Last Hope, immediately left the town, then noticed the Mark of the Spellblaze was gone.
