There are occasional updates here: https://git.net-core.org/tome/t-engine4/commits/master but not at a pace that looks like a new update soon. I check about once a month hoping for a news, but its been quiet for a long while :(

The damage stops as soon the suffocation stops. If you are buried in sand as soon as you get out of the sand. If under water as soon as you get any air.

I think that is a bit counter to idea of a living creature going through the ritual to turn themselves undead if they are already undead. I believe there are two components here: The collapse damage and then suffocation damage. The collapse damage is one time damage (unless you are trying to run ahead of collapsing tunnel and get hit each step). I believe the suffocation damage ticks each round you have that state even if gaining air ...

Lake Nur on Insanity+ is definitely a challenge and I believe it is by design. Insanity isn't supposed to be fair or beatable by most builds. I've noticed if you select an undead you don't get any equilibrium/anti-magic based categories which is nice, but the same is not true if you select a Krog. They can still get spell based categories which they can't use.

Figured it out:1.7.3 addon was messing with it. Once that was deleted and the game restarted it is now working properly.

The thought for the nerf is to due to removing the cool down when triggered by Sun's Vengeance. With a high enough crit change you could proc this once on most turns rather than once every 9. But with that said maybe a 50% nerf is too high?
