Would a better solution be to have the data be one download, and the engine another? That would let you get each option without wasting time/bandwidth. The thing is that binaries are pretty insignificant in size compared to the data, and having to download two things anyway kind of defeats the purp...

Yeah, that's what I meant, an additional option. I believe in some cases it's better to download and use a single 200 or 210 MB zip rather than 3 or 4 separate 190MB releases. It'd also be pretty sweet if there was a portable version, storing saved data in the directory the executable is located in.

Hmmm. I think I suggested this somewhere but can't find the post.

What about funding the shop so it restocks when you pay X gold? Perhaps it could also get slightly better items every time you do so?

One-time event is no good imo.

2000g indeed sounds more realistic.

Perhaps simplified version of my idea, where you pay 2000g and add further money to be able to specify item type, egos, etc.

Or perhaps make every next one slightly more expensive?

Being the original author of the idea I of course am all for this, but 5000 sounds a bit harsh... Perhaps make original price 200 gold which yields a completely random randart(but most likely a weak one), and add additional options like: * 100 gold - better material * 300 gold - even better material...

While I never used teleport runes, I feel that their main use would be teleporting away from enemies, in which case minimum range would be useful. I think the shops should(at least partially) restock every week or so and be filled with stuff of lower level than player, few equal level items and one to three higher level items. Perhaps even add an option to "order something interesting for me" which gens a randart? I agree with Revere...

I think it would be somewhat unfairly strong. Perhaps increase it logarithmically so it doesn't explode into 20hp/s?

Also, wouldn't it be better suited for str than con?
