ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

So I've had a few games where I searched the enitre map and no hermit (alchemist quest one).... This current game I know where he was... got a quest from him... now he's nowhere to be seen. Also.... for some reason I have 50 billion adventurers wandering around... there's always at least 1-2 on the ...

Tested it a bit more.... seems it was leaving the chars name as player that did it. For the scatterbrained people like myself I have an idea. Instead of having the default name being player... which causes this prob... either have the default name blank and not let people past that window without pi...

So ... finish off playing my mage for the night. Have logged out and back in with it already once... wanted to look at the skills on a mindslayer. Make my mindslayer then log out... time to go back to the mage again.... No save file for the mage. I've had the save folder open on my other monitor and...

So noticing that ice damage can freeze things and hearing that slime can slow... what are the other affects of specific damage types?

Acid?

Light?

Noticed I was slowing something at one point without a slime weapon and was wondering if it was another of the damage types.

Two quick ideas... perhaps when you control-m to bring up chat log you could have an interface to chat there in the log (makes having conversations a bit easier). Also... perhaps an option to have part of the log displayed inthe player window to the left in all that unused space still? good to be ab...

So after spending a day or so going for the unlock for mindcrafter.... when I finally did it there was no message window like all of the other unlocks I've gotten. Didn't know I had unlocked it until I quit out to make a new char to see if I could... which makes me wonder if I unlocked it on another...
