Re: Helping manage those pesky skeleton mages as a necromanc
A necromancer doesn't need to be in the LOS of most bosses to win, so they're practically invincible for a large part of the game. Probability Travel along with Shadow Tunnel and Arcane Eye allows you to sit comfortably behind a wall (or in a closed room) and watch your minions do most of the work. ...

Re: Archmage questions.
@GreenyMark 1 - I don't recall there being any bosses who are 100% immune to status effects. 2 - The last time I used Rune of the Rift on a boss it complete healed him. I mainly use it for finishing off enemies. 3 - You have enough stat points per game to max out 3 stats, unless you're playing on in...

Re: Postgame / Melinda & other Questions
1) Probably not yet.
2) Keep doing farportal dungeons, until you find the easter egg.
4) They all provide nice bonuses. You can find better stuff though.

Re: Grushnak fight causes endless lua errors
Unfortunately, I deleted the log along with the rest of b35. I tried playing a different version to see if it was less buggy, but there's no difference.

Re: Races - how do you choose?
My 1st winner, a dwarf zerker, had over 120 to all saves, except mind (90s). It was way more effective than my current saves. Now, it's incredibly hard to get really high saves, and saves have been capped to 100. You need more than 100 to shrug off status effects from the strongest enemies. So yeah,...

Grushnak fight causes endless lua errors
Every time Grushnak attacks or moves next to me I receive a lua error. I think it's due to Onslaught. Lua Error: /engine/interface/ActorTalents.lua:456: attempt to index global 'src' (a nil value) At [C]:-1 At [C]:-1 error At /engine/interface/ActorTalents.lua:140 useTalent At /mod/ai//Tactical.lua:...

Re: Stairscumming?
Stair-scumming is abusable for almost the entire game. There was a bad player who made it to the final dungeon by scumming constantly. Make traveling between levels cost a turn.

Re: Helping manage those pesky skeleton mages as a necromanc
Friendly fire is an intentional drawback for minions. Minions are already very powerful. And necromancers are pretty overpowered. Dealing with friendly fire isn't even difficult. You can teleport your mages around, move away from them, or destroy them. Once you get Probability Travel you'll rarely e...

Re: Helping manage those pesky skeleton mages as a necromanc
Necromancers are already very easy, so making minions smarter wouldn't be a good idea. Most of these problems are just minor annoyances. There are plenty of ways to deal with friendly fire. And souls are basically an infinite resource, so it doesn't matter much if your minions are too dumb to live. ...
Re: Lichform
Why do you keep on saying Lichform a 5 point investment? You get a free point for unlocking it and you don't need to put 4 more points into it, as shown with my necromancer winner. Yeah, a skeleton necromancer is better than a (former cornac) lich necromancer. It doesn't matter much for minion necro...
Re: Lichform
Lichform is basically an extra life while sustained. Dying while it's on still counts as a death. Blood of Life doesn't work when you turn into a lich. @omni The Necrosis tree requires a category point to unlock? I think I had Blurred Mortality in the beginning of the game. I remember only spending ...
Re: Lichform
It's a sustained ability that requires you to die. Yes, it costs a life. Once you become a lich the talent gets grayed out.

Honestly. This thread should be locked. I'm glad the Tavern doesn't have threads like these. I'd have to moderate more often.

Re: How do you get the different endings?
WARNING: SPOILERS! There are only two endings that I'm aware of. Save the world or enslave it, with a few variations. - Save the world: Defeat the final bosses. - Enslave the world: Defeat the final bosses as a Yeek. You have an option to force everyone to join The Way. I haven't won with a Yeek, s...
