Re: GOG Launches New Indie Submissions (something for TOME4?
Sorry for bumping my own thread, but it must have gone invisible! I can't think of any other reason why Tome players and devs wouldn't be interested in www.gog.com! Yes, GOG.com, that site where you buy indie games (and classics like Baldur 1-2, PS: Torment, Fallout 1-2, Duke 3D, Unreal Tournament e...

A way of combining coop multiplayer with turn based gameplay
This would destroy the balance in the normal game, but maybe it's worth consiering in that upcoming orc game that Darkgod has talked about? Imagine that there was a place where the player could hire a bodyguard, that could perhaps work like the pet in Torchlight. Let's call this place "Hire-A-S...

Re: Awesome game - 1 suggestion
I agree on more random room types for Trollmire and similar ways to make the dungeons feel more unique with each visit. I'm not sure how well miniquests would work without being hideous... The simplest way to implement it would of course be to have a "pool" of pre-designed side quests wit...

Re: Much harder to reliably win on roguelike now than a year
I dont know what roguelikes the OP has been playing...Most of them are absolutely horrid,in a good way, and destroy you sometimes without even making it clear how and why you died.... You need to play for ages to have a chance of finishing... I've mostly played Angband, plus some Rogue, NetHack and...

Would be interesting to hear how the battle went. Don't take unneccesarry risks when you're so close to winning!

Re: Wish: Give us an editor for non-randomized custom scenar
You know the game is fully editable, right? I'm pretty sure you could do everything you just described with the addons system, though compatibility might be tough. You'd need to learn some LUA/coding, but quite frankly any graphical design interface is always going to either have very limited capab...

Re: Awesome game - 1 suggestion
Hey all, this game is truly epic and awesome already, but I have a suggestion. It needs much more randomization. What am I thinking of? Randomly generated world with towns, dungeons etc. with a setup screen. If it would work like that, this game could be the RPG of the decade easily. What do you th...

Re: Much harder to reliably win on roguelike now than a year
Also uh, not to undermine your ingenuity, but I don't think "use Aim because it's bugged" really constitutes a trick. Nor can I agree with your reasoning that "broken skills are a good thing as long as I personally get to abuse them once before they're fixed". I think you're con...

Wish: Give us an editor for non-randomized custom scenarios!
Hear me, o powerful Darkgod ! Imagine a scenario editor with a user-friendly what-you-see-is-what-you-get interface that would let us make simple non-randomized custom levels for ToME4! The Tutorial module would be a good example of what could be made with such a level editor. Here are some more ide...

Re: Much harder to reliably win on roguelike now than a year
I agree mostly. Random bosses are by far the worst. It often takes the fun away, when a carefully built player is smashed instantly. Even out of depth characters can do this at times, such as nagas in old forest! When it comes to out of depth monsters, I guess they can be interesting as long as the...

Re: Much harder to reliably win on roguelike now than a year
I agree with some of your gripes, but I wouldn't want the game to be in a state where exploits, broken equipment stacking, and unbalanced skills were the appropriate way to win. I think any skill that restricts action needs to be looked at; confusion and stun are two cases where you can be left in ...

Re: um, how exactly did king Toknor and queen Mirvenia...
The biological definition for races is that they can interbreed (with fertile offspring), whereas species can't. Of course, in fantasy the terms are more or less used interchangeably. An in reality things aren't that simple either, it appears some "species" can and do interbreed after all...
