Updating video card did not help, but thanks... I needed to update it and didn't realize. Reducing the resolution to 800x600 seems to speed it up quite a bit, so I think it would have to do with the video instead of the AI (unless they are tied to resolution somehow, frame updated or something) Stil...

New member, love game... Problem with performance. Beta 21 runs fine and smooth. Recently downloaded Beta 24 and had to disable background on login screen and ToME game runs with extreme lag after entry.
