Re: Multi-Class Challenge

Ah, this could be so wonderful, with a little more finesse. Playing Insane the normal way with mono-classes hardly interests me any more... BUG REPORT: Learning my new class reduces my max hitpoints. As a Sawbutcher, if I'm level 1, I have 134 HP - but after multiclassing into Sun Paladin, I have no...

Re: Addon Help: Checking Buffs on player

That's a fantastic bit of ToME shorthand, stinkstink!

Re: RELEASED: Player AI

Ahhh, for the longest time I somehow couldn't find this addon! I've been thinking about using the Player AI to speed testing... Might end up having to make a couple of changes to my personal copy of the code, but it should be excellent for that purpose. Yep, I've waited long enough already. Let's gi...

Re: Multiline console commands?

Yep, this is something I do all the time, now - writing long sequences of commands in Sublime and then pasting them into the log! Thanks for the help, guys! It works out far better really because the silly log isn't persistent and is impossible to copy from anyway, so if I want to re-use some test c...

Re: Where the beam ends

Zizzo , the code works as intended, and gathers only the second and third return values (or the fourth and the fifth in the case of getTargetLimitedWallStop.) When you see this, you'll want to kick yourself... or well, you'll want to kick something, at any rate - I certainly felt like it! --- Calls...

Re: Sublime snippets for ToME / TE4

Adding new snippets all the time! haaaas... Has anybody actually used them? I'm still looking at creating a dedicated "ToME Tools" package for Sublime Text. That would surely draw a few habitual users, as well as convert a few more people to Sublime Text, I should hope! Plans: Autocomplete...

Re: Sublime snippets for ToME / TE4

Well, I've just discovered atom.io, an editor which is apparently gaining traction over Sublime due to Sublime's poor developer support.

I still want to make Sublime awesome for ToME, though. Adding new snippets every day! And eventually, we can try and get an autocomplete working...

Sublime snippets for ToME / TE4

I've created a repository of snippets to speed development of ToME/TE4 when working with Sublime Text  I understand that Sublime Text is popular with ToME developers - not least of which is DarkGod himself! In my opinion, it's a beautiful text editor and everyone should use it. But we haven...

Re: Where the beam ends

Oooh, nice. I didn't know about these. When did they come in?

Isn't there a massive amount of copy-pasted code within the ToME talent files that could be replaced by the functions getTargetLimited and getTargetLimitedWallStop?

Re: Block mechanics, and related prodigies...

4. Spectral Shield... Magic damage should already be included in the block ability, sans prodigy. Why shouldn't it? If you throw a fireball or ice spike at me, a shield can still block it This is something that has alwasy irked me, though I can appreciate that resistance to all damage types goes be...

Absolutely.

You can prevent save-scumming by pre-generating or pre-seeding the items that will be added ^o^

Re: Principles of design.

Oooh, interesting discussion. I like the idea of more exciting shield mechanics. Bone Armour for example would be cool if its power increased with the damage you've taken in the past 5 turns, or some similar mechanic. As regards design principles, I think: I like to see classes where there is not an...

haha. I love how everybody found your arbitrarily chosen example to be so much more provocative than the general point you were making. To tell the truth, I did begin to glow a little green with invidious desires when Radon started calculating the potential damage! So, yeah. Sawrd. I haven't picked ...

Re: Buffing bad prodigies

I don't really know how to make non-passive damage prodigies good aside from straight buffing their damage. It's an interesting question! I can think of other ways to buff YSBMW, but here a few general principles to apply when working with attack-type prodigies: If your Über attack is a stun, it sh...
