Re: no Master - how to continue?
2) There's a mod called "Bosses gone AWOL" that helps a lot with missing bosses. You may want to check the addon page for this one. Thanks, that worked! :) I had seen this mod before, but didn't try it because someone in in-game chat said that mods cannot be added to games in progress. As...

no Master - how to continue?
I have explored pretty much the entire level 9 of Dreadfell, but cannot find the Master. I read that this is a known bug, so I'm not posting it in the "Bugs" section - but my question is: what can I do to continue? I am computer-literate enough to extract a savegame and edit some files, of...

Re: Icons from ToME appearing in another game?
Thanks! I'm relieved to hear that the devs of that game didn't lift icons from Shockbolt, that would have really been a shame.
Also, I need to bookmark that site!

Icons from ToME appearing in another game?
Hi - sorry if this topic was already discussed, I did a search but came up empty. I noticed that the recently released (and critically slammed) game "Blade of Destiny HD" uses some icons that I know from ToME. As far as I remember, some of ToME's graphics were done by Shockbolt and he expl...

Re: Indie Royale bonus items inaccessible / Lua error
I tried another character, and ran into the same problem. Sorry for repeating my question, but is there anybody here who managed to access these items? No one in the chat had. Also, is there a way for me to quickly get a nbew character into the fortress and test things? I tried using the cheat mode,...

Re: change Meteroic Crash to an Active
Hmm, I'm currently playing a charcter with the "Meteoric Crash" prodigy, and I actually like the fact that this prodigy is an uncontrollable, somewhat chaotic force. It's usually nice when it kicks in, but it also keeps smashing my summoned Yeek mindslayers, which is kind of hilarious. I t...

I just sent the error report again, so if you check the latest ones, you should see the details. If you want further information (or if you want me to test something), just ask.

Indie Royale bonus items inaccessible / Lua error
The Indie Royale version of ToME comes with an addon that provides a couple of bonus items, which can be accessed (one per character) from the fortress butler. However, when I try to choose an item, I just get a Lua error. The lore for the item gets displayed (and added to my lore list), but the ite...

Re: Turn "Winners table" into a "Progress table"
To be fair, it's not unusual that developers play only some aspects of their game, for several reasons. I just found it a fun way to illustrate how empty the Winners tables tend to be, and I didn't want to sift through hundreds of them to find more examples. ;) In any case, the Winners tables _do_ l...

Re: Option: Downgrade permadeath mode after death
Because it cheapens playing roguelike mode if you can just change your mind when you die. When I decide at character creation that I am playing roguelike, I know death is final and I won't be able to change my mind, no matter how good the run was or how close I was to clearing it. In a lot of cases...

Re: Option: Downgrade permadeath mode after death
The stress of knowing that I'd have to redo the character was pretty huge when I ran Nightmare(Moreso since I had picked a Ghoul. I like how they got Blood of Life to taunt me.). That's a big psychological impact that...simply would not have been there the same way if I knew I could have gotten &qu...

Re: Option: Downgrade permadeath mode after death
Within that, while it is no easier to get the Nightmare achievements with the situation you suggest, the cost for failing would be lesser-you would simply lose a crack at the later achievements, rather than the character. So, basically, changing that makes Nightmare/Insane achievements easier in a ...

Re: Option: Downgrade permadeath mode after death
ToME already has modes where you can have several tries against a boss - adventure and exploration - so what exactly is the problem? Playing roguelike with the option of not really dying is having your cake and eating it too. Roguelike deaths hurt; they are final and they erase hours and sometime t...

Re: Lua error with Pulverizing Auger in alt Old Forest
I had a similar Lua error (already reported in-game) that occurred repeatedly during a fight with the alternate boss. He kept knocking me into the crystal wall, then the error popped up. At that time I didn't know the game well enough to investigate further, but I suspect that he was using some skil...

Option: Downgrade permadeath mode after death
Currently, for players on Nightmare difficulty and beyond, there is a clear incentive to play with the Roguelike permadeath setting, since otherwise you can't earn achievements. However, some of my characters grow on me during play, and when they die, I would actually prefer to be able to continue p...
