Re: Marauder Unlock Build
Yeah, I'm of the opinion that a str/cun build focused on two-handers is a good way to unlock the marauder. I've been trying for QUITE a while, and then once I saw this thread, it only took me a few days to get the unlock :). And with only 2 poisons boosting Venomous Strike! Here's a link to the rogu...

Re: SDL 1.3??
AFAIK, you'll have to compile from source, since it's still in development. Try http://www.libsdl.org/hg.php - you want SDL 2.0 (it's the same as 1.3, just a different name). You may need to use a specific version of SDL 1.3, though, in which case you might need to download the Mercurial repository,...

Re: SVN Level up Screen
This would be painful for something like an archmage :-/.edge2054 wrote: Also you can't expand categories you don't know anymore (or collapse ones you do know and don't want to look at for that matter).

Re: [b40] Smelly the Dwarven Corruptor (5 deaths)
Well, I'm glad that I'm not the only one who feels a little dirty for playing on adventure difficulty, but does so anyway with the hope that I'll be able to learn faster if I have more high-level deaths

Re: [b40] Disruption shield-heavy archmage
One other thing: Does Time Prison (cast on yourself) work for avoiding the effects of the shield explosion? If so, you have a very effective boss-killer, assuming you can survive one round of the damage and recover from losing the sustain. Further testing indicates: yes, yes it does let you dodge t...

Re: Disappearing weapon
I think I've encountered this problem, as well. IIRC, I was playing a mindslayer (in b40) and used a wyrm's mindstar on the mainhand mindstar, to complete the set. I *thought* they had somehow combined, since the mainhand one disappeared and was replaced with the wyrm's, but it sounds like I actuall...

Re: [b40] Mindslayer Auras activate on saving
Gonna bump this because I just had a good run with a mindslayer, and it was rather annoying to have a targeting cursor pop up every time I changed zones.
Also, confirming a spike on the world map can do odd things. The one time I tried, it was a thermal aura, and I managed to cause damage to myself.

Re: [b40] Disruption shield-heavy archmage
Oh, fatigue would definitely be useful. I'd tried wearing mail armor on a previous character, but decided this time around that the spellpower boost from robes and wizard hats would be more useful than fatigue (after all, more spellpower = more absorption). But, if you're already investing in armor,...

Re: [svn] Thunderstorm mana cost
Ooh, I like the sound of that. I'd experimented with Thunderstorm on a disruption shield build, hoping it would help me drain mana, and decided that it would likely be underwhelming. Particularly given the sustain cost and the investment of class points. But, 7.5 mana per bolt, up to 6 bolts, and Ao...

Re: Escort Frustration Lowering Ideas
3. As it stands, there's a big incentive to leave your starting dungeon immediately and not come back until you have leveled up as much as possible, so as to be as powerful as possible when you meet your escorts. This is the result of the early game being kind of boring and repetitive (too many Tie...

http://te4.org/characters/1596/tome/f3ea96f2-645e-4df3-8424-198d918c7181 Advance warning: I'm verbose. The bullet list in the middle should work as a passable tl;dr, though. I've been playing with the new Disruption Shield for a while now, and although I still haven't beaten the game (got careless ...

Re: been away for a bit - points of confusion?
The Hidden Tunnels moved, yes. I don't think I've encountered them between Elvala and Derth for a while. Try autoexploring (press 'z'), that'll usually do it. Or wander a bit further afield. Adventurer packs are indeed still starkly lethal, for most classes. Even for classes that can handle them, th...

[b40] Trollmire level gen bug - inaccessible lore
I've heard that Trollmire is supposed to NOT generate disconnected sections any more, right? Well, looks like that can still happen. Specifically, I'm currently looking at a tile, surrounded on all 8 directions by trees, which contains one of the pieces of lore for Trollmire. Luckily, I know exactly...

So THAT'S why I keep dying to those. TBH, I'd never actually looked at their talents in-depth until I saw something with a hymn and a chant summoning shadows.PureQuestion wrote:Randbosses have two classes. Randelites have one class. That's the difference between them.
