Re: [b42] Old RPG Tileset & Darkwood UI

Do you have shaders disabled? The only time I've seen the dark bars is when shaders were disabled. They are supposed to be bright, there's a pic earlier in this thread that shows what the bars should look like. Glad you're enjoying the set, and thanks for the kind words guys! Also, DG added some ho...

Re: [b42] Old RPG Tileset & Darkwood UI

I love the look of this tileset as well! But I have a small issue. The Darkwood UI makes the health bar almost impossible to see, because it's so dark. I don't know if it's specific to me, but I had to disable it manually by removing the UI from the addon. I think it'd be nice to offer the package w...

Re: A suitable for work version of the ToME4 background imag

It's not that the picture is offensive (or distractingly attractive); I just don't think it's a good image to represent the game. At first glance, it makes the game look more like clichéd wish-fulfillment fantasy than something with intellectual and artistic merit. It's a bit like using a scantily c...

Re: A suitable for work version of the ToME4 background imag

On an artistic note, I think I'd prefer the picture without characters at all, just the backdrop of orcs and swords. Right now, it's a bit too busy and distracting to be a good background for the menu. It's more suited for a loading screen, tastefulness concerns aside.

Re: A suitable for work version of the ToME4 background imag

I'm with Grey on this one. In college I worked at the library and we were free to play games or browse the internet when there wasn't any work to be done. But I'm positive that my boss would not have been impressed if I played a game with that kind of background. Even if she didn't care, I'd be emba...

Re: Dumb questions thread

Thanks. So, I take it the third ability also requires the sustain to be on to work? In retrospect that makes perfect sense but I think it could stand to be a little clearer in the description.

Re: Dumb questions thread

How come my fungal growth isn't triggering off heals? It's passive, so it doesn't need to be turned on, right? I tried with an infusion and nature's touch, no regeneration.

Re: What am I doing wrong?

Erm... okay, I fixed it on my own. Apparently it's automatically hidden if you leave short_name as "example".

What am I doing wrong?

Following the "Getting Started" guide, I copied the example folder, renamed it, and set show_only_on_cheat to false. But I can't seem to see it in the engine. I'm sure I missed something simple, but I don't know what it is. Help please?

Re: ToME 2 maintenance

Alright, I've created a branch for new changes. I'm new to Git so bear with me if I do anything wrong. Some things that have been bothering me that I'm looking to fix are: Inertia control doesn't work at all - relatively easy lua fix. Triggering Wave of Power via Spellbinder on something with a fire...

Re: ToME 2 maintenance

And if anyone is wondering who the heck the new guy is, I've played since it was called PernAngband and been source diving to look things up almost as long, so I do know my way around ToME. I've just never had the need before to compile my own copy (or make a forum account  )

Re: ToME 2 maintenance

I've made a working Windows compile, but as it's my first time I'll wait and see if someone else steps forth. Having said that, I'd be interested in helping out with some minor fixes and tweaks like making Runecraft at least functional and fixing Inertia Control (right now it just displays the anti-...
