800x600 can't close inventory

When playing at 800x600 resolution the size of the inventory box goes past the screen borders. This makes closing the inventory with the mouse impossible. Normally this would be a non issue, since the Esc key can close dialogs, or just play at 1024 or above. I've been trying this on my tablet though...

Re: loot generation

Cool, just checking. I tried to look for myself but can't find the code where base objects are generated. I found the bits that assign properties and generate randarts etc and that all seemed pure rng based. (which fit my observations) The only part of it I noticed being stacked oddly was the base o...

loot generation

Is it just me or is the game's code skewed toward generating items that do not match the players class? Play Beserkers and you get more one handers than two, play Bullwark and its the other way round. Very few daggers when you're a rogue but tons otherwise, that kind of thing. I thought at first it ...

Re: Launcher won't update

I'll try it on another connection when I get a chance.
I can't click the patch button. It downloads the list, puts the error in the update bar and the button is green around the edges but unresponsive.

Re: Launcher won't update

I can't imagine it's my ISP, they never block anything else. Possible i suppose, just seems unlikely. I'll probably end up downloading the whole archive for the current version next time I get a laptop near a WiFi spot. I'm just hoping this won't be an issue in future once I do. It's really weird th...

Re: Launcher won't update

Don't have a router, just a usb 3g modem. Don't run anti-virus or any of the goofy windows "helpful" security features.

Re: Launcher won't update

Nope no proxy, direct connect through a 3g modem. no firewall. This version has music. . It's definitely talking to the servers, because I get update available messages in game, my profile pulled my unlocks (took a few tries but it got them, this is a new install on this machine) and the log shows i...

Launcher won't update

Been away for a while, last version I installed was 1.0.0. Was excited to see the "launcher" concept as this was the reason I stopped updating was the ever increasing download size and new versions popping up all the time. (Just too much bandwidth) So I download the launcher, drop it in my...

Re: Better distinction of explored terrain underground

Nah this has nothing to do with effects. Actually ToME never even lags on my system. Here's two shots with framebuffers and shaders disabled, and ASCII w/bg. One is The Blighted Ruins, the othe Norgos' Lair. Note the graduated shades of shadow in the lair. EDIT: Also notice on the mini-maps that the...

Re: Better distinction of explored terrain underground

Here's a screencap. had to downsize it to upload, but you can see what I mean. Everything on the screen (actually that entire level) has been explored. Been like this in every beta I've tried all the way back to 12b when I first found out about T4. I've got a Geforce 8800 so I shouldn't have any pro...

Better distinction of explored terrain underground

The Fog of War makes underground dungeons kind of a pain because you can't tell what's floor and what's rock unless it's lit. You just see walls. This is especially annoying in the snaking passages mazes where you have long tunnels with a one tile width gap separating them. The overland dungeons don...

[b32, b33 & 34] crash on startup [solved]

Coming from b28 and everything was fine. Tried upgrading to b34 and the game crashes silently on launch before drawing the window. stderr.txt is PANIC: unprotected error in call to Lua API (Unable to initialize: attempt to call a string value) and here's the te4.log [CPU] Detected 2 CPUs tried b33 a...

Re: Are beta13 dialogs faster?

Update: They were faster till I took someone to Bree. (been trying skellies until yesterday) As soon as I got into bree everything, movement et al, but especially dialogs slowed to a crawl. Much worse than b12, sometimes caused the window to show not responding for up to 20-30 seconds at a time when...
