Re: I love the alchemist class
Wow! That is pretty awesome! Safer than scumming deep water too... Although I still prefer the shallows to the mountains, but that is just like the difference between preferring milk or dark chocolate. Both are great ways to level up in no time at all. Your way does not require the magic shop to be ...

Re: I love the alchemist class
A better way to go about this is to sell your potion of detonations, buy some manathrust & noxious cloud wands, WALK, don't travel to the shallows south, and kill a couple of things. Put a couple of points into Magical Device, then kill some 3 headed hydras. You will be level twenty in a matter ...

Re: I love the alchemist class
I think I have an idea what might have happened. When I tried to power my artifact, the game, instead of giving me the menu to empower it, asked me what kind of staff I would like to create, just like when I created the staff of wizardry. I had no idea what I was doing, and, as I wanted to add spell...

Re: I love the alchemist class
Yes I am playing 64 bit, and, no, this character is a couple of weeks old. This is actually the very first artifact I have ever made, and the character is a lv 46 Yeek. If you notice, the staff has 0 experience. I created a staff of wizardry, turned it into an artifact, then made it a staff of spell...

Re: I love the alchemist class
Thought of that actually. The staff isn't actually as nasty as it looks though, because the way the numbers wrap bring globe of light to level 75, which is only doing around 180 damage. I also "only" end up with 5800 or so SP. Still, I don't understand how those numbers are even possible o...

Re: I love the alchemist class
Should have. Took Melkor. Could switch when the ring is toast I guess.
There is something seriously wrong with that staff. Of course the numbers wrap, so it isn't as bad as it looks.

Re: I love the alchemist class
umm... a Mage Staff of Spell (Exp:0) (1d4) (-2,+10)(13108680%) (+655434) It can be wielded two-handed. It can be activated for runespell(Protection, Sphere, 43) every 215 turns and runespell(Element, Power Surge, 14) every 70 turns if it is being worn. It increases your spell power by 655434. It inc...

Re: A new project...
Has anyone noticed that the wiki has been down for the last few days? Is everything ok there or did something bad happen?

Re: How am I standing on level 100 of Angband?
I did destroy the ring, but I thought that the staircase to 100 would not appear until Sauron was killed. I did go back up to 99, found Sauron and pumped him full of manathrust until he burst after I made the first post, I guess I just misunderstood how it worked. Looking for Morgy now.

How am I standing on level 100 of Angband?
Sauron is still very much alive, and as yet unseen. But I found a down staircase on 99 and went down. The ring is toast. I have had an Angband winner before, but this is my first ToME character to make it this far. Is this normal? Did I screw something up?
Thanks in advance

Re: Sorcery and Wraithform
AVERAGE!! OK, that is what I was missing. I thought I needed 30 between the two. OK, I have the points still, Guess I am going to need to decide if walking through walls is that important, especially with climb, fly and probability travel at my disposal. Thanks!
Re: Ugh. YASD
My best character was a Rohan Knight Sorcerer that I got to level 50 and had some pretty impressive equipment. I had cleared out Mordor and decided to try to push through to the bottom of Mt Doom so when I found the ring I would just be able to recall back down, and on the 2nd level or so, I was wal...
