Re: Doomed can not feed through creeping darkness
Is creeping darkness that spell that causes permanent darkness in an area that can't be countered by Illuminate? I haven't tried dispelling it (assuming you can dispel an area -- I don't use that spell).

Re: Difficulty scaling
Foolish I may be, but level 30 mobs on the first level of the dungeon? Seriously? Even outside the vaults, the ID seems to be an OOD carnival. Then the vaults turn it to 11.

Re: Difficulty scaling
Since we're talking difficulty here...
Two level 30 naga myrmidons on level 1 of the Infinite Dungeon. I'm lucky the stairs were about three steps from the vault entrance.

Re: Massive slowdown
I'm trying the Infinite Dungeon for the first time and it's beyond slow for me, too. The standard game gets very slow at times (esp. in certain locations, like the Old Forest and Bree during the elemental invasion), but this is awful. FYI by Bree and the Old Forest I mean whatever the hell they're c...

Re: underwater cave (q5b)
I'm having trouble finding the cave, too. After looking at the scripts, it looks like there's a bug. IIRC the West and Far East were separate maps. Now they're one large map. It looks to me like DG forgot to set can_encounter="water" for rivers/shorelines in the Far East, which is a necess...

Pathfinding needs some work
I had an impossible escort quest in Kor'Pul. The poor guy couldn't path his way to the portal. He kept walking back and forth along a wall. The layout was roughly as follows: o portal n escort NPC # wall path ############# ## ## ## ### ### ## ## ### ### ## ## ### ### ## ## ###o### ## ## ####### ## #...

Re: categories for archers
An archer should learn sling skills (for eye shot, inertial shot and multishot) and a slinger how to use a bow (for piercing arrow and volley of arrows). Both trees are very useful and work for both shooters. This should be made clear in the description for both trees. Pretty much every other weapo...

Re: Infusions a bit over powered?
Fun fact: Categories can only be improved twice, yielding a +0.200 mastery bonus. You're just asking for each point spent to count as two.

Re: Getting out of Tempest Peak
I did bring a couple dozen with me, though. I should've carried more on principle, but it wasn't being unprepared for the dungeon that killed me. Being unprepared for a surprise bug did me in.

Unable to leave the Assassin Lord's den
[s]I had to redo the merchant/assassin quest just now because I was stuck after the battle. The stairway was unusable, presumably because the assassin lord died in a doorway. This is the first time I've had this sort of trouble, but it's also that first time AFAIK that he's died atop a door.[/s] Ign...

Re: Getting out of Tempest Peak
Warning: Do not attempt to return to level 1 once you enter the mountain.
You will appear in the middle of the peaks instead of the stairs. Cue YASD by drowning (no phase door, no conveyance, recall rod too slow, final destination). That was probably my most successful character to date, too.

Artifacts in Stores
There's an artifact for sale in a store but I can't afford it. Is it lost forever, or can it appear in a store/elsewhere later?
On a related note, if I sell an artifact, is it gone forever?

Re: Staves- are they 'real' two-handed weapons?
That was my first thought, too, but then I realized they're not necessarily fighting staves. They're primarily intended for spellslingers, so any old walking stick (enchanted, of course) will do.registeringislame wrote:Frail? Tell that to someone with a quarterstaff.

Re: Staves- are they 'real' two-handed weapons?
Frail wooden stick? Are all enchanted staves wooden? Never bothered reading their text descriptions (the stats, on the other hand...)
