Anyone remember how to satiate hunger with a vampire class? The description I see says you can satiate hunger while next to a monster, but I can't figure out what to hit to do it...

I was just about to give up earlier, then found how to get to the left part of the machine level. Now I am stuck again and have tried to go through every wall and dig through every wall that I can find, and no dice. Any spoilers out there before I beat myself senseless and give up?

I am on lvl 4 of Barrow Downs and searched for her all over, could never find her or the rattlesnakes. I even dug out all the trees around the level to be sure I did not miss it. OK, what is the easiest mage to play? I always got confused by ToME and all of it's options. I'm an Angband vet and want to get into the more complicated play, but it is SO diffferent from Angabnd. I tried a Zombie Rohanknight Swordmaster once which was pretty easy, but wanted to try a magic user...

FYI, I have the Blood of Life, but if I die, I cannot use it - it does not show up as an option when I hit 0 HP. Isn't that how it is supposed to work?

saved after beating up the first nasties, then kept going. Froze again after first REST. Then reloaded and did not rest. It froze after casting Vision once, and once after just moving one tile. Almost like after x number of turns, it totally freezes.

When running through the maze (ie holding down shift+arrow), your trail leaves darkness, not "known" grids.
