Not, of course, that you're being judgemental... Riding system is on the cards (in to-do at least), and Rohanknights will be reduced in power somewhat with the introduction of split-speed. Thunderlords are slated to go in 3.0.0 and Deathmolds are flagged as experimental, which is programmer speak fo...

Strictly speaking, if it's not a proper noun then it should be de-capped...

Having said that, I prefer the Title Caps, just for the "look" of it...

Just to add my 2cworth... I DID try Angband classic a year or so back and was struck by how BARE it all was. There is so much TEXTURE and VARIETY in ToME that returning to Angband felt like going from the Jungle to the Desert. Not to go too far into "balance", but I remember an interview w...

Hmmm... very useful.

I can see this replacing substantial sections of the forum. And a good thing too... :)

No, it wouldn't be nicer, I say. More variety would just dilute the pool too much. Fewer weapons, not more, is my plan. And good job too, I say. The codebase from previous versions has some awful padding. I mean, TULWARS? Katanas? BOOMERANGS? The rebalancing of weapons once it IS reduced is somethi...

No, I think what they're obviously crying out for are MORE inferior... er... correctly balanced weapons for non-swordmasters... Think of it! "The Beaked Axe of Almost-As-Good-As-Anguirrel!" "The Pike of Could-Maybe-Be-Mistaken-For-Glamdring-In-A-Bad-Light" "The Mace 'Not-Qui...

"imbalance?" I swear, the way it's used here, "balance" means "the way I like it." Please note the tongue firmly pressed into the cheek! I'm aware that everyone has different tastes in weapons, which are driven by the individuals personal ideas about theme. There's als...

That's right, but I answered as I did becuase the original post this time specifically mentioned swaying me. :-) Vala forbid! :) What about in Arda? Will the imbalance be deliberately built-in as well? (Don't forget, we won't have Zang to blame there...) Don't forget... Morgoth was a Hafted-Master....

For mine, non-underground dungeons should have a different layout to wilderness dungeons. They should have their own randomly generated overhead-map representing the dungeon. You can't move anywhere you haven't been on the map (i.e. you get there by going to a purple staircase and...), but you can m...

Neil -- as Lord Dimwit is sort of acknowledged to be the top player on these forums, I figured he deserved his own category. ;) Besides, I wanted to see how skewed the results would be, given that there's only one Lord Dimwit. I think "Top Player" has to be reinterpreted as "most mas...

Because it was a Blade of Westernesse...

Did the enchanted nature of the blade "poison" the Witch-King, or did it merely weaken his defences allowing Eowyn to kill 'im?

For mine, Eowyn did diddly squat.... goooooOOOOO Hobbits!

Who killed the Witch-King of Angmar?

Yes, this is an old, old troll (in the non-Tolkenien sense)... Who was responsible for the death (er... un-death) of the Witch-King? Eowyn or Merry? Sword of Westernesse or pure Rohan-gal pluck? Peter Jackson got around it by digging out the WK - "No man can kill me..." Eowyn - "I am ...
